I saw one at Sally's and was wondering if anyone has done this at home and if so how easy is it? How easy is it to refill the nails every two weeks and is this a cheaper route than getting them done at the salon?
I wouldn't recommend it. If you're not trained to use it, you can do some serious damage to your nails. You're risking the chance of getting fungus, and overexposure to the product which will make you allergic. Also, the liquid has a very strong smell so if you're not in a properly ventilated area you're gonna get sick from it.
Go to a qualified tech, please!

ya they work but go get them done it is much easier and doin it yourself will damage your natural nail more then getting them done...it is harsher in the buy it yourself kit than what they use in the salon... i am a cosmetologist and i do acrylic nails i have seen several people who have tried it themselves and had to come to get them fixed by me....dont do it your just going to waste money

Where can I find a great Acrylic kit to do my own pink and white acrylic nails?
Sep 15, 2008 by Mimi | Posted in Other - Beauty & Style
I've been getting my nails done professionally for years and I know with a little practice I can do them myself. Does anyone know a great all-inclusive acrylic nail kit for pink and whites that I can buy?
Go to Sally Beauty and look for an acrylic brand called ASP. They have a trial kit that is like $28 or so which has everything you need to get started. It's a bit of an investment, but it's a decent brand of acrylic. If you don't want to spend that much at first, just go to like Walmart or a Walgreens and pick up an acrylic kit there for about $10 or so. I'm sure that with a little practice that you will be able to do them yourself in no time at all. It isn't difficult at all to do your own acrylic nails, so give it a try. It sure beats spending all that money in a salon! Good luck!

Where Can I get my sister an acrylic nail kit/set for Christmas?
Dec 14, 2008 by Moneyhog365 | Posted in Makeup
I'm a 14 yo boy so I obviously don't know about nails. My sister is 11 turning 12 in a couple of months and wants a acrylic nail set for christmas and i want to buy her a safe and legit one. P.S. i have a 32 yo sister who's a nail tech should i ask her thank you
yes ask her because you have to know how to put them on correctly did you think about just getting her a gift card to a nail salon? they sell them at drugstore but as i said before they are hard to put on and can easily get infected or grow something under them if not put on correctly

Has anyone tried an at-home acrylic nail kit?
Jan 18, 2008 by way_iba | Posted in Other - Beauty & Style
I was wondering, how easy is it to use? and How do they look when you are done? thanks =)
its easy, but they look reallly suckish unless you get your mom to do it or something.
hey,
if you go to a salon with the kit, they charge you half price if you'vegot the materials.

Acrylic Nail Kit.................? ?
Dec 01, 2008 by eric_extacy | Posted in Other - Beauty & Style
I bought a $16 Acrylic Nail Kit at Wal Mart and the nails are wonderful except I decided I didn't like the design so I painted them myself and then put the acrylic coat on but I didn't get them how I wanted them but I already put my acrylic over the paint so can I just PAINT on the top of my acrylic with nail polish and then put a coat of acrylic on top after it dries? Would that be okay? Or can you not paint on acrylic on and then paint over it and then put more acrylic on???
