I'm a 14 yo boy so I obviously don't know about nails. My sister is 11 turning 12 in a couple of months and wants a acrylic nail set for christmas and i want to buy her a safe and legit one. P.S. i have a 32 yo sister who's a nail tech should i ask her thank you

yes ask her because you have to know how to put them on correctly did you think about just getting her a gift card to a nail salon? they sell them at drugstore but as i said before they are hard to put on and can easily get infected or grow something under them if not put on correctly

A beauty supply store is the best place. You will need to invest a little money in the beginning for the right tools. Just be careful, it is easy to get a nail fungus if you don't get them on correctly. Good Luck.

Customers complain that their nails burn; overturn brown, green or white, sometimes even start to disintegrate.
It is occurrence because of acrylic fingernails received at nail or beauty salons across the country, often by unlicensed workers in unlicensed salons.
Some nail technicians are using an acrylic nail sealant called Methyl Methacrylate (MMA), the same font of sealant that is used to seal teeth.
MMA makes nails substantially unbreakable and the underlying nailbed disintegrate.
Several local nail technicians have seen customers who received inadequately applied acrylic nails.
"Nail enhancements should `strengthen,' not ruin your natural nailbed," said Cathy Prusinski, a nail technician at Ingenious Designs in Bourbonnais. She has helped victims of poor acrylic nail applications improve their ailing nailbeds.
She supplies written information to clients on identifying a bad salon, or manicure and nail appositeness.
"One of the worst cases I ever saw was one year ago," Prusinski said. "A little woman had nail fungus and the nails were green. Water had entered through the nails and mold developed under them."
When an acrylic nail cracks and not work enters the nail down to the nailbed, fungus starts.
"This client was told by the salon she went to that her nails were no more than bruised. They proceeded to soak her nails in acetone to disconnect the acrylic nails. This caused her nailbeds to burn intensely."
