as a woman I am bombarded by adds for mascara the will make my lashes longer and thicker and hair products that will make my hair shinier , bouncier, fuller etc. but I am wondering if guys really care about that sort of thing. do you guys notice if a girl has long lashes or shiny hair. are short lashes and /or dull hair a deal breaker for anyone.
I'll notice the fact a girl has eyelashes, but such tiny specifics would never be a deal breaker for me.
Besides, I'd prefer if my girl used no make-up or very little.
For me, a deal breaker is like their personality and certain habits. (( Ex: Being grossly untidy about cleaning for food/kitchen stuff is a major turn-off to me. ))

When make up is used properly its great but most men prefer natural.
Really well put together will turn heads and make other women jealous but i think that too much attention to looking good reflects badly on the person.
Eohan | Jul 29, 2008
Nope. Guys will notice it only to give you a compliment. But on a regular basis they tend to skip past that. Men prefer less make-up on their girl, as this doesn't show the true beauty of a person. The true beauty of a person is whats inside. :)

Oh god no, dont even bother.
90% of us guys could give a crap about your eyelashes, tbh my brain doesn't even register eyelashes, i dont even see em.
Trust me, guys aren't as shallow as people think, we care about personality too!

Lol that's commercialism for you! They try and come up with a product for everything to make money for things that you don't really want or need.
But i would say that 90% of the time it's for the benfit of other women. You walk ino a room and the guys will either think 'she's nice looking or not' but the women are more inclined to be thinking 'Hmm, hair looks dull, what shoe's is she wearing? God that handbag doesn't match, and that foundation isn't put on very well!'

yes, good eye make up, including - crucially - the right mascara makes all the difference. So yes some of us do indeed care and notice, and I'm glad women make the effort (some of them at least). To a lesser extent hair, women waste too much time and money on hairdos and useless products when their hair probably looks wonderful natural (as long as its not dirty).

Nah i am too busy looking at your sexy curves to notice
Its only the make up companies that sell you the idea that if you wear this eye liner you will be sexier
Dont waste your money most guys wont care

Guys care about you looking healthy. That does not mean you have to look like a drag queen (I think this is a turn off for the large majority of men) but you at least need to make an effort to look clean and healthy.
Hair is a HUGE sign of health so if you are not healthy and have dull brittle hair and use products to make it appear healthier, you will look healthier.
Your health is something you should care about for yourself, not guys.

I care about them only when they're long enough to braid them with pink ribbons. O/w, its NOT a deal breaker.

I think really bold ridiculously long eyelashes are weird. I wanna see the natural you.
stormshadow_024 | Jul 29, 2008
Care ??? I don't know if I'd say I care , but yes longer ,thicker eyelashes do look nicer .
Yes , long ,clean ,shinny, healthy hair is noticeable and more appealing as well.
The eye lashes may not be a deal breaker , but a steel wool hair do could be.

permanent eyelash care question?
Jun 19, 2007 by Lindsay W | Posted in Makeup
What eyeliner/eye makeup remover is best to use ...is mineral ok? Is there a certain way of doing/removing liner that is easier on the lashes?
permanent eyelash is just that permanent -you will have to live with it. go back to were you got it done and ask them because it matters what material they use to put it on with. because if they used mineral oil then that will not work to take it off. You could try using soap and water first then try the mineral oil but read the label and make sure it says that it is okay to use around your eyes because you do not want to damage your eyes.

Does anyone have tips on good mascara and on eyelash care, help please?
Mar 05, 2009 by Candi | Posted in Makeup
I have long, thin lashes that don't curl at all. They used to curl. When I first started wearing mascara I didn't need to use a curler but I started after only a few months because it made it a bit more dramatic, they would touch my eyebrows and it made them look super long! (Not scary long though.) I didn't wear the super thick mascara and I only put one coat on so they looked natural (my eyelashes are dark blonde so you can't really see them w/out mascara) and they always behaved very nicely and maintained curl...I got so many compliments on my lashes. Well, by the time my senior year of high school rolled around my lashes no longer curled AT ALL, in fact a few of them actually curl downward on the ends so I ALWAYS have to use a curler when I wear mascara now...ant to top it off it has reached the point that waterproof formulas seem to be the only kind of mascara I can wear that will actually maintain the curl. Mascara and gloss used to be my favorite makeup items...now it's just gloss because I can't seem to find a good mascara. Any ideas on what mascara I could use or what I could do to get my old eyelashes back??? I miss them!!! All suggestions will be appreciated. :)
