fake eyelashes?
Jun 13, 2008 by audrey | Posted in Makeup
i've heard they pull out you're real eyelashes, is this true? and is there any other flaws i need to know about them. also, what are some tips you've discovered by applying them b/c it's still a little tricky for me. what fake eyelashes and eyelash glue do you recommend?
you should get 53 Black, you can get them at walmart or walgreens. the eyelashes come with a little package of glue but i actually bought a whole tube and it buy DUO-(waterproof,clear-white, eyelash adhesive) you should apply all make up before applying your eyelashes.(eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara) you only need a thin line of the adhesive on the eyelash because a little can go a long way! when you pull the eyelash off sometimes one or two real eyelashes come off but it's not that drastic. You should be able to reuse the eyelashes over and over. Just remember to peal of the eyelash glue and any make up before you reapply on the eyelash for the next use.

Yes when you take them off a lot of times your real lashes come off with them. If you go on YouTube and search fake eyelash tutorials I am sure you will find a lot of results. It might be easier to actually see it than to read about it!

i just go to sallys beauty to buy my eyelashes. i think the brand is ardell or something like that. i've never had a problem with them. after you apply the glue to the fake lashes. blow on it for 5 seconds or so and let the glue become tacky. then apply to your eye. if you brush mascara on them afterwards, this could cause your real lashes to stick to the fake lashes. if you then pull them off, it could pull off your real lashes. when i apply mascara to the fake lashes, i usually wet them before i take them off. the water will help your real lashes become unbonded to the fake ones. you'll have to set the fake ones on some dry tissue or towel to let it dry and keep it's form.

Will wearing fake eyelashes turn out good if I have 1 monolid eye and one doublelid eye?
Feb 12, 2008 by Helen S | Posted in Makeup
I'm planning to wear fake eyelashes for an event coming up, I actually have quite large eyes for an asian, just that one of my eyes has a crease and the other doesnt. (ones monolid, ones doublelid)
So i was wondering, If i wore fake eyelashes would it look unbalanced or something because the monolid eye would be pushing the fake lashes down?
or would it end up giving me a crease?
It would end up giving you a crease. Wearing fake eyelashes will amazingly even out your eyes and give them the exact same fold. I have that same problem, usually both of my eyes are doublelids, but sometimes if I'm tired or if I've been crying my right eye will turn into a monolid. When it does, I use fake eyelashes to even out both my eyes. So if you do it, your eyes will look stunningly even and wonderful. I hope the event goes well!

How do I remove fake eyelashes at night without ruining them for the next day?
Dec 22, 2007 by Renee H | Posted in Makeup
I want to be able to use my fake eyelashes more than once. Any suggestions?
Remove false eyelashes before you go to bed, using a warm compress or makeup remover. Holding the warm compress over it will make them come off easily and you can use them again. Sometimes the make-up remover can actually be harsh and destroy the lashes or make them feel and look stiff.
Works like a charm. And charms work well!

How do I apply fake eyelashes if my real lashes are straight?
Nov 26, 2006 by KK | Posted in Makeup
I'm asian and like most asians, our eyelashes don't curl. They go straight down. I even have a hard time curling them with an eyelash curler. If I use fake eyelashes, will it look weird with my real straight lashes?
To sagittarius_love and to anybody else reading this- i've already tried heating the curler and using something similar to hairspray (only that its made for makeup to hold it in place) but it still doesn't work well.
an idea might be to try to heat the eyelash curler or spray hairspray on it.

What is the best way to apply fake eyelashes?
Oct 28, 2006 by bnkujawa | Posted in Makeup
I bought some fake eyelashes and adhesive for a Halloween party tonight. I can't seem to get the corners to stay down. Should I put them on before I put any make up on?
Step 1: Apply all of your make-up first!
Step 2: Determine which eyelash goes on each eye. They should be smaller going on the inside and extending longer toward the outside.
Step 3: Take a q-tip and take off the cotton. Apply lash glue to the q-tip, then take the q-tip and spread glue evenly across the band of fake lashes.
Step 4: Starting from the outside of the eye, apply the lashes at your natural lash line and hold for a few seconds so that the glue can attatch to your natural lash. When you feel that it is secure, lay down the rest of the lash and hold for a few seconds. The glue WILL work, just hold until it hardens a bit.
Step 5: Do the same thing to the other eye.
Step 6: Glue may dry clear but sometimes they dry white, go ahead and take your eyeliner and go over your liner once more but do it softly as to not disturb the lash glue that may still be drying.
Good luck!
