Hi Ladies. Have any of you gotten hair extensions and how do you like it? I'm asian and my hair is kind of thin and very straight. Not super thin though. But I heard that it could mess up your hair when they take it out. I'm planning on getting the inside of my hair braided and then have the extensions put on. Any tips on hair type or what I need to look for? How do you know if someone will do your hair right?
Any kind of hair is fine it's not the hair that will damage your hair it's the stylist just tell he/she not too braid your hair tight and u will be fine braids grow my hair and I've did then over 15 yrs .And as far as doing your hair right ask to see the stylist pictures she may have done on other ppl hair if she dosen't have any I don't know then.Normally most of my clients come to me b/c of somebody hair they saw me do or word of mouth.Hum just check out the stylist work I wouldn't want u to be a mad client when u come out after paying $ b/c hair braiding is expensive I know we set are own prices depending on our work & sometime by the hour!

Get human hair please and a good quality too. Also , you want to goto someone with a good portfolio of their work. Hair extensions absolutely damage your own hair so at least make sure you buy good quality hair and get a very exper. person to put them in.

I have extentions right now and I love them! Mine were glued onto my existing hair so I'm not sure about the braiding. Many of my friends also have had these and they do not damage your hair as long as you take care of them and follow the instructions your stylist gives you. You can also buy a special brush made for extentions that makes it a lot easier to comb through and doesn't snag your real hair. Make sure you go to a pro.

i think they are stupied ive never had them never want them just let your hair grow out it will look better anyways but they like bread your hair or sumthing and liek glue them in beats me... if your gonna get them get them teh same texture as you own hair and dont put in differnt textures of ahir cause it will get to look even tackyer then it already will

I tried it once and only left them in for a week because the itched so bad! Im a very clean person but i couldnt help it, they itched so bad! I had my hair braided and then had them sewn in.
But they looked nice for a while.
Keep doing the research and see if its something you would like
good luck!

I have clip in extensions and they are real. I dont wear them everyday cuz im toooo lazy 2 put them in :/ Now that its summer I wanna go swimming but I dont want them to fall out. Should I just take them out? Also can I wash the clip ins? as if im washing my own hair. Like have the extensions clipped on and then just wash my hair like normal?
Thanks,
Tara :]
I have clip ins too. I wash my extensions separately in a sink so they don't get tangled with my hair. I wouldn't swim in them because not only would people be able to see the clips but they would get very tangled with your hair.

I would like to get hair extensions but don't know heaps about them.
Can anyone tell me, how do they put them in hair????
Also how much approximately would they cost????
Hi,
Now that heaps of people have told me that hair extensions damage hair i think i will only be having clip in now. : )
Thanks everybody. ☺
a friend once told me that hair extensions are a no-no. it can damage your real hair. but if u've got lotsa bucks why not give it a go just for the experience. with the technology at this age, there's always solution to whatever hair woes there could be.

What kind of hair extensions should I buy?
Apr 05, 2008 by Misty M | Posted in Hair
I have been using straight yaky hair for about 3 years but it doesn't have any body. I'm tired of straightening my hair to match the extensions and I want to find a good wavy type of hair. All I can find is chinese indian blends though. I have to, I repeat HAVE to stay away from course feeling hair because it just does not match my texture. My hair is extremely soft. Any suggestions.
This is not a question on how to apply, this is for weft types only.
Um i got mine from Sallys 100% Human Remy Hair 14 inches. You can curl it or leave it straight. And they're really soft.

They can be a lot longer depending on if you apply them lower or not.
Hope i helped =D

What do sewn in hair extensions look like when they are growing out?
Feb 09, 2009 by devil in disguise | Posted in Hair
I am considering hair extensions because the hair around my crown area an the top of my head is much shorter that the rest of my hair. Before I go ahead with this, i was wondering if anyone could tell me what extensions generally look like when they are growing out. I am leaning towards the sewn in extensions, but I want to make sure I have all of the facts before I move forward. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
pics would be great if you have any! Thanks!
It's best not to keep them in for more than 2 to 3 months, as this is when your hair growth starts to show, and people will then be able to definatly tell you have extensions and you don't want the embarresment of someone telling you your track is showing.
Sew in really is the best for your hair, it has no glue or heat which can seriously damage and break your hair, have fun
I love long hair ;)

In the stunner world — so often accused of a put straight of moral bankruptcy, from
hair extensions in shampoo ads to chemicals in lineaments cream — a growing bind
of brothers (and sisters) is fighting the fair corner and displaying, in
special, concerns for attractiveness’s meaning on the environment.
Godfather of them all is Record Constantine, who heads up Extravagant cosmetics (its
tag hire is “new, homemade cosmetics”) and is already well-known for
being the man who supplied Anita Roddick at The Congress Shop with her
peppermint foot liniment and other iconic products — none of which, crucially,
were tested on animals.
Since Roddick’s passing, in 2007, he has been hailed as the “new Anita” and is
seen as the knockout industry’s most vocal campaigner on upright issues. “I
do maintain we have to make a contribution, so therefore you’ve got to traditional
up,” he says. “After Anita had gone, it was point. Who else is going to do
it?”
Proper crusades have moved on from coarse welfare, though, and one of
Constantine’s latest campaigns has been the eradication of palm oil from
Moist’s products. (The Association Shop got a bashing, news last year, for buying
its palm oil from a society that evicted churl families in Colombia in
ordinance to develop a plantation.)
After his son, Simon, went on a recce to Borneo and reported that
“sustainable palm oil” was a immense oxymoron, the settlement was taken to
tidy up all their soaps without it. “It’s been a vast job — it’s been 18 months
now, and lots of calling to get the quality; we’ve equitable, magically, got to the
place emphasis on where it’s superior than it was before we started. But, across the
room, we can’t keep using palm oil — it’s in something like one in 10
things we buy, and whole counties have been bulldozed and covered in palm
trees and nothing else at all, so it’s part of the wrecking of the
rainforest.”
