i'm thinking of using human hair as an organic fertilizer... but there's a problem... human hair doesn't decompose easily.... what can u suggest to make the human hair decompose?
how come that anything that will make hair decompose will kill the plant?
how come that if i grind hair, it will decompose easily?
further explanation pls....
I would just mix it with compost and let the bacteria and microbes do their work. But remember that if you want "organic" fertilizer, then the hair should be organic too. In other words, no hair coloring, no mousse or grease allowed. And on a lesser note, the human donating the hair should not have drugs or medications or heavy metals in their system.

anything that will decompose hair quickly will kill anything you plant in it.

human hair doesn't have very much in the way of nutrients for plants, it's usually spread around in gardens to keep the deer away they can't stand it

Try using other material for your fertilizer. Weigh your pros and cons. I bet there is much cons that you will find if you use hair. Hair is good to use for bioremediation especially during oil spills.

How is the hair for human hair extenions and human hair wigs obtained?
Sep 22, 2007 by ambivalentambiance | Posted in Hair
Lately I have seen a lot of advertisements for human hair extensions. Paris Hilton and Jessica Simposon have their own line. Other brands are available in national chain drug stores.
It just seems like extremely large amount of human hair.
Does anyone know if is mixed female and male hair? Is it from adults or children? Who are these companies buying this hair from? How much money do the people selling their get?
I would like any answers to any of these questions.
I am concerned that people in poverty are being exploited for them.
You are right, poor people in 3rd world countries are exploited for this. They have the thickest, strongest hair. It takes at least seven years to grow enough hair to sell. The people who do this, usually do it for a life time, and do not get paid much for it. It is, however, enough for them to continue doing this. It's possible there are males who do this, but men around the world usually wear their hair short, so I doubt it would be many of them.
Also, some wig makers sneak synthetic fibers into wigs, so not all the wigs that claim to have human hair, have 100% human hair. Just like toys are supposed to have no lead in the paint, wigs can be deceptively made, too. The cheaper the wig claiming to have human hair in it, the less likely it will have many human hairs in it.

How long does human hair naturally replace itself?
May 08, 2008 by jfrank | Posted in Other - Health
That is, I know that human hair gets old and has a growth cycle, and I heard that body hair constantly replaces itself as it grows to a maximum length the hair naturally falls out and replaces itself. Also, is it the same for head and body hair? Thanks in advance!
grows at a rate of approx 1cm a month.

possible human exploitation is
always a good political question
I understand that female homo sapiens naturally have less natural body hair than males as this is common knowledge. I know that certain races of humans have more or less body hair than mathematically calculated averages of body hair distribution. But I'd like to know the mathematically calculated averages. I'm not going to stop sculpting my goatee, it's just a natural need to understand how human people in general, of both genders, might look if they let their hair grow from birth to *ripe old ages*. Thanx!! :)
well they would prob hav split ends from not cuttin their hair so then it gets more damaged n starts 2 break n might also fall out
n guys will prob hav long beards n b bold
lol :]

Cashmere's soft and warm appeal
15.03.10
As a former Londoner, I've owned my comme share of knits. As a youngster, I couldn't be aware why I hated my unclear school sweater but loved the way my sister's verdant scarf felt around my neck. Incompatible with the itchy sweater, the scarf was impossibly ignition, almost magically enveloping me against the icy English winds I faced on the way to shape each morning.
What was this Fair-haired Fleece? The clues on the denominate read "100% Cashmere" and "Made in Scotland."
Cashmere. Righteous the sound of it conjures images of poise. Like caviar and pearls, the fiber has shame beginnings. Who would mark that the hair on the underbelly of the Mongolian goat would be in such violent demand? But it has been for centuries, and because there is less little of it and because processing costs are leading, it has traditionally been an extravagant indulgence.
So why is it that nowadays even Costco is selling it? Range about in into any mall, peculiarly as Christmas nears, and you'll be involved a arise across cashmere sweaters in such a assortment of prices your noggin might spin: $1,000 or $59.99?
Karl Spilhaus, president of the Boston-based Cashmere and Camel Hair Manufacturers Initiate, believes the inconsistency in price is often an symptom of quality. "It's a mistrust of significant move quality," he says.
Which gets back to the clues in my scarf's epithet. As with most items associated with richness, the justification for a exorbitant price is often that the jotting is rare or that it requires a lot
