Has any body else ever experienced this? (Makeup mirror question)?
Jun 13, 2008 by Church Lady | Posted in Makeup
My friend has one of those makup mirrors that is a normal mirror on one side and a magnified mirror on the other side. Well, she left the thing with the magnified side facing her window and the sunlight bounced off of it and started a chair on fire. I never thought of my makup mirror as being a fire hazzard. I mean, it makes perfect sense but it just never crossed my mind that my makup mirror could cause a fire in my house.
Um yeah there was this one time when I was playing with a mirror outside and it lit my hair on fire. So yeah mirrors can be hazards. Just make sure you're not pointing them at the sun.

A shaving/makeup mirror is designed to magnify your face by a factor of 1.2 when your face is placed 20.5 cm in front of it.
When applying makeup do you use the magnified or normal side of the mirror?

I use the maginified side for applying eye make up, becuase it's about putting it on accurately and without smudges... if the lines will be fine, the effect will be ok...but when it comes to concealers, rouges and the "complete imgage" i turn to the normal side, because it is important to get the full picture - to see how those shades look in the context of the face, cause there's no use to apply carefully and accurately a bronzer or rouge if it will weigh your face down splashed on the wrong area of your cheeks for exapmle :)

How can I apply makeup when I wear glasses?
Nov 24, 2007 by ~ Jamie ~ | Posted in Makeup
I almost always wear contact lenses. I pop my contacts in after I shower, and then apply my makeup. Well, to give my eyes a break, I bought a pair of really chic eyewear. I am not sure how to apply my makeup before putting my glasses on - especially because I am blind as a bat! Any tips? I have a magnifying mirror, but it sort of distorts my face.
Put your contacts in...apply makeup...take contacts out.
Good luck.
