can acrylic nail tips be dissolved in a manicure bowl?

Yes - buff down carefully until you have a thin layer left - it reduces the time it takes to soak them off. Buff carefullly though. You dont want to go through to the nail.

Sit the glass or china manicure bowl in a larger bowl of hot water, and add acetone - the heated acetone works faster.

Soak your fingers, and wipe after 5-10 mins with a cotton pad soaked in acetone. It should take about 20-30 mins to do one hand. So set the time aside and pay attention to your hands.

Rub warm olive oil or very rich hand/nail cream into the nails when you have the last of the acrylic off. Take care of your hands/nails for the next couple of days as the acetone is very drying.

You cant do this with gel nails - they need to be professionally removed.

no

They need to be removed in acetone,it melts them.

Yes if you use a glass manicure bowl, using acetone, you will be able to take off your acrylic nails in a safe way

Yes - mine were certainly taken off this way last week anyway!

Glass bowl and acetone

No! Acrylic can only be removed by fileing/buffing the remaining tip off. Acetone is only effective on silk/fibreglass and the tips themselves but not the actual acrylics.( Nail tech/beauty therapist for 14 years.)

in a glass bowl with acetone, can take quite sum time tho, your best bet is to hav it dun at nail salon, as they do it far easier and quicker, and the cost is minimal

if your using acetone to melt them make sure the bowl is glass as the acetone melts plastic. i find the best way to melt acrylic off is wet cotton wool pads in acetone and wrap the ends of your fingers in kitchen foil and leave for 10 to 15 mins

Yes by using acetone - its very time consuming but I have done it many times. Be careful that you don't peel the nails off because it leaves your own nail very weak underneath. Hope it works do it sitting at a table as well because you get hand ache and you'll need something to lean on!

Can you use a manicure pumice stone to clean mineral off a toilet bowl or is it a special stone?

I would recommend trying the cleaning product CLR. it is said to remove those tough build-ups.

Husband lost a bet on the super bowl and?

His end of the deal is to get his hair done with color (his hair is currently dark brown) in a girly hairstyle at a salon and i'm also taking him to get a manicure/pedicure complete with acrylic/gel nails and nail art. I need to know what hairstyle /color/ nail polish color/nail art you guys think he should get ?

Everything Pink, except the hair. You don't want to embarrass him too much. The hair, go for a softer color, or a less outrageous color. Something like Red, orangish would fit because there are people who actually have red hair so it wouldn't look too bizarre.
Good luck and congrats on winning. I, too, support the steelers and made 150 bucks off the SuperBowl.
Or, you could spell out YOUR name on his fingers with Rainbow colors. And his toes could just be a rainbow with hearts for Valentine's day.

What is your manicure routine?

At the moment I soak my fingers once a week in a bowl of warm water with lemon, dry them, apply cuticle cream and push back the cuticles. Then I cut and file my nails, apply a length and strength protein polish, then coloured polish, top coat and finally a light hand cream. What products do you use? What is your routine?
Thanks.

First I soak them so that the skin is soft, then I put E45 lotion on my hands, then I put my culticles down and file my nails so that they don't look bumpy. E45 is really good stuff! here...

Beautician's on yahoo...please help me with my manicure procedure?

Right well im at college and we have done manicures and stuff and im in my 2nd year but i also missed a month because i had an operation...anyway..i can hardly remember my manicure procedure and last week i got told off because i should know it by now.
i keep doing everything in the wrong order and im so scared of getting it wrong again.
I know that you clean the hands with surgical spirit, then you file the nails and i think you put them in a bowl of soapy water..but is that before you do the cuticles or inbetween? Basically..can u just explain everything to me..like the whole procedure of a BASIC manicure? Thankyou so much..i really dont wanna get it wrong again.!
xxxxx

right it goes like this
wipe clients hands with surgical spirit
remove nail varnish
cut nails if required
file and shape
buff (1 hand)
apply cuticle remover (1 hand)
soak 1 hand
buff and apply cuticle remover soak other hand
massage in cuticle cream
use the 'knife tool' round the cuticles
clip cuticles if required
push back cuticles with soft hoof stick
apply hand cream massage with thumbs up to elbow same with wrists massage up and down on fingers working inwards gently circulating the fingers
remove excess cream from the finger nail bed with polish remover
apply base coat
2 colour coats
top coat
if you have a polish drying aid such as qick dry drops or non aerosol spray use that is client requires it
